GUJRANWALA: Acting Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Tariq Qureshi paid a surprise visit to government Millat High School Satellite Town Wednesday morning. The deputy commissioner inspected class rooms and laboratories at the school. He also went through the school records and showed displeasure over an 88 per cent result of 10th class last year. Tariq Qureshi directed the school principal to pay further attention for improvement of education and ensure that all computers in the lab must be in working order. He also directed the school administration to improve the cleanliness in the school and provide a clean atmosphere to the students.
Robbers loot citizens: The city experienced a stringent wave of crime as robbers deprived several citizens of their valuables in at least 31 incidents on Wednesday. In various incidents across the city, citizens were robbed of cash, mobile phones, jewelry, motorcycles and a car.
Teacher shaves student’s head: A teacher reportedly tortured a student and shaved his head for not doing his assigned work. It was reported that the student, Haroon, was studying at a private academy where he was beaten up with a cricket bad and had his head shaved by the teacher, Aslam, for not doing his assigned work. Police have started an investigation.
Young girl ‘gang raped’: A young girl was gang raped by four youth in Abbas Colony. It was reported that the victim, a 10th class student, was alone at home when four youth entered her home and raped her. The victim was transported to DHQ hospital in critical condition. Police have started an investigation.
