A drone strike in Afghanistan’s Khost province on Thursday killed five suspected Afghan Taliban militants. Mullah Akhtar Rasool, leader of a faction of the Afghan Taliban, was killed in the strike.
According to security sources, a drone targeted a vehicle in the Ali Sher area near the Pak-Afghan border in Kurram Agency. The strike occurred up to 5 kilometres inside Afghan territory.
The claims, however, have not yet been independently verified.
